Beware the Mass Mob, or someone once said, good advice, yes, perhaps so, or at least that's what history does show. Well, let's discuss the biggest of all of societies mobs, the Internet, a group in which nearly everyone belongs, already over 2-billion people; and growing soon it may be 90% of the population, at least according to the goals of those who help guide and monitor mankind's greatest communication system. At least we think it is great today, but what about in the future?
Sure, let's discuss the future of the Internet for a moment and where all this is indeed going. But, first, let's admit that when people want to know something, they go to the Internet and type in queries and generally they trust much of the information that they pull up. Trust! Yes, they trust it. And as more and more humans join in and post content online, discuss things, and share information, we find that people trust the consensus. But what if that consensus is wrong?
Or what if it has been manipulated by governments or unscrupulous folks, PR firms, corporations, military misdirection, terrorist organizations, or hackers? If the purported information is being trusted by those viewing it, then it could be to everyone else's demise. And even if one asserts that the masses will prevent that from happening; we should recall that the masses once also believed the world was flat. Do you trust that? Okay, so this is a bit of what's to come, so we need to be thinking here.
